Our first day in Africa started with a visit to the Giraffe Center, where endangered Rothschild giraffes are bred & released back into the wild. They also take in injured wildlife, like the warthog who had a wire-snare wrapped around it's snout. Next up was "Kazuri" a place which employs women from around the area to make hand-crafted jewelry. Our final stop was Crescent Island Wildlife Sanctuary on Lake Naivasha. We were able to walk around with giraffes, impalas & lots of birds. A very unique experience! Our lodging was at the Sopa Lodge, which was a beautiful & serene place to end our first day.
