En route to Lake Manyara, we stopped to meet some gold miners. They do a lot of work for very little payout, which gave them lots of time to drink! L. Manyara is home to the famous "tree climbing" lions & it's rare to see them in the trees, but saw them! We stayed at Tloma Lodge, which was an oasis in the Highlands. A self-sustaining farm that provides food, water & jobs to the neighboring villages. They grow their own veggies, flowers & coffee/tea. It was a treat to stay at this beautiful place for two days!
