Bobcats
Today was just the best day ever!
I was sitting on the deck enjoying the sunshine, reading my phone, when I saw something moving on our fence. And there they were... a Mama bobcat & her two kits, just walking on the fence without a care in the world! My first reaction was "HOLY SH*T!" & then "I need to get the cats inside NOW!" As soon as I told Gracie to go inside, Moki saw Mama & charged at the fence! The kits, who were walking behind her, stopped in their tracks & jumped into the nearest tree. Mama jumped off the fence & into the greenbelt on the other side.
Once I got all my critters in the house, I sat quietly on the deck waiting for these little cuties to come out of the tree. I could hear Mama's chirping, as did the kits! The smaller one came down first (see 1st video) & headed into the greenbelt. The bigger one wasn't too sure it was safe. I spent a few minutes just watching him/her, taking video of this incredibly elusive animal while I could (2nd & 3rd videos.)
Then I went inside to give him/her some space & watched as he/she slowly climbed down. At some point, the smaller kit had came back for its sibling, waiting in the yard of the tree. I went back outside when I saw he/she was safely out of the tree, then watched them crawl under the fence & head into the greenbelt together, heading towards Mama's chirps, disappearing into the tall grass (4th video) just as suddenly as they appeared!
Seriously... Best. Day. Ever.

on October 21, 2016I absolutely love the first photo in this series. Bobkitty looks almost camouflaged.
